Counterflow cooler

The counterflow cooler is used in the pellet lines. It is positioned after the pellet press and its operation is to cool down the pellets. It consists of a rotary feeder, the cooling chamber, the discharge grid and the outlet funnel. The air flows through the cooler by a fan and cyclone for dust removal. Pellet material is fed by the rotary feeder which also prevents false air to enter the cooler. Pellets are deposited in the cooling chamber up to a predefined layer. Air passes through the layer for a predefined duration and removes heat and moisture. The discharge grid operates to unload a portion of the layer on a first in - first out basis. The layer should have a constant height throughout the process. The cooled pellets are discharged through the outlet funnel to the next processing stage or storage.
