Industrial hammer mill is designed for raw material normal to coarse grinding of feed products such as cattle, pig and poultry feeds. The hammer mill consists of a rotating shaft with round plates and hammers attached to the circumference of the plates. Screens cover the area around the rotor. The housing of the hammer mill consists of the inlet on top, the diverting plate that feeds the mill radially, two large sliding gates for access to screens and hammers, and the motor base. Safety locking devices are attached to the gates to prevent access when in operation. Heavy duty roller bearings are used for longer life. The housing is constructed from thick plates to ensure safety and robust structure. The motor is directly coupled to the rotor. A separator is attached on the inlet of the mill to sort the fed material from stones and iron impurities. A feeder screw is used on top of the separator to control the feed rate in the hammer mill and ensure even distribution of material on the rotor and screens. The feeder screw is controlled by a frequency converter, which adjusts the speed of the screw according to motor loading. The industrial hammer mill unit also includes a discharge bin, a filter block and a fan.
